It’s been awhile since I have enlightened you to the music you should be listening to. I haven’t posted a Jen-itunes November 2007. Seriously. What’s up with that? I don’t know what you’ve been listening to since then, but I know you will be better off with the recommendations below.
Holiday-Hilary Duff: Hil D showing up on one of my playlists, is, well, shocking. I am way into this song. Super catchy and just sugary pop delicious.
Modern Nature-Sondre Lerche: This is from the movie Dan in Real Life, which I LOVE. This guy did the whole soundtrack and I love it. It’s simple and fun.
You Can’t Fail Me Now-Loudon Wainwright III: This song makes me think of Dawn. I listen to it over and over again when I miss her-which is a lot. I just think after everything, no matter what happens and what we say or do, we can’t fail each other. We just can’t.
Epistemology-M. Ward: This song drives me nuts. I swear I have heard it in a movie, but I can’t, for the life of me (or the help of google), find this to be true. In any case, I just love this tune. I just feel like this song shows that we can’t always shake off the religion we grew up with. When things get really bad, I still pray. But I don’t really believe. I don’t think “God” led me to where I am. We can stumble along and just land where we are supposed to
Breaking the Girl-Anna Nalick: One of the few Red Hot Chili Peppers songs I liked. I think this is a great cover.
Break My Fall-Plankeye: I totally forgot about this song, but Joe reminded me I loved it. Sometimes we just need someone to break our fall.
Where I Stood-Missy Higgins: I am not sure how I heard this song, since I rarely listen to the radio. But, it was right after Heidi twittered her and Joe’s demise. I immediately thought of her. This chick has a great voice, though
End of the Affair-Johnathan Rice and Jenny Lewis: When this CD came out, I LOVED this song. I saw them perform it live together a few months ago and it was just so fun. I just love this song.
Jack Killed Mom-Jenny Lewis: I would love to see THIS song live, but alas, it’s has not happened yet [editor's note: This happened just a few weeks ago! See video Here]. Michael and I both think of Landon when we hear this. Landon and his Oedipus complex. It’s fitting, right?
La Belle et le bad boy-MC Solaar: I have been OBSESSED with this song every since it was in the series finale of Sex and the City. It took me forever to figure out who sang it. I can’t really understand it, but I love it.
Sea of Love-Cat Power: This was at the end of Juno. It’s so gentle and cathartic. It’s just beautiful.
The Weepies-World Spins Madly On: The Weepies are awesome. Download all their music. This is one of my favorite songs. Just imagining other’s lives going on and you aren’t there, but wish you were. Or could be or. . .so many other paths. And yet, everything continues.
Falling or Flying-Grace Potter & The Nocturnals: It’s a thin line. Is life good or is bad? Sometimes you just can’t tell which it is.
You can find previous editions of Jen-itunes here: 1st Edition, 2nd Edition and 3rd Edition

This Jen-i-tunes is one of my favorites. I listened to End of the Affair and Jack killed Mom everyday on my way to class. It helped me through those early mornings!
