Please excuse me whilst I GUSH. Yesterday, was one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had since moving to Seattle.
A few weeks ago, one of the local bloggers I read, Sizzle, put the word out on her twitter that if you were a Seattle lady, email or DM her for info about a party. Now, normally, I am pretty reluctant to go to something like this. I hate not knowing anyone and I am pretty sure I suck at making friends. However, Sizzle’s writing is just so open and relatable, that I felt I HAD to go.
So, so happy I did.
Sizzle hosted this party along with Nintendo. That’s right bitches! Fucking Nintendo. And let me tell you, they know how to throw a party. Super hip loft in Pioneer Square, free valet, free drinks (Champagne!) and free food. Did I mention the drinks were served by cute boys with an accent?! I’ll give you a moment to get your jealousy under control.
This party was more than hobnobbing and video games-I met some AWESOME people. Normally, I would go to a party with people I don’t know, spend most of my time talking to the one person I DO know and leave thinking “yeah, sure, that was nice”. This was not that party. From the minute Sizzle said hello (and dude, she was like Andy in The Devil Wears Prada-she knew who everyone was by face, even though we’d never met! That’s some skills!) I felt at home. These were my people. Every person there was my kind of person. Totally laid back, not afraid to say fuck, completely honest and hilarious. Where have these people been the last 5 (almost 6) years?! Don’t get me wrong, I totally love my friends and would be no where without them, but as the saying goes, you can never have too many friends. Meeting these girls just solidified why I live here. I’m so excited!
Of course, Heidi came with me and things just don’t get much better than that. Despite everything else going on, having her here, by my side, making me laugh is just delightful. We just have a ridiculous amount of fun together. It’s amazing how similar we are. We don’t look alike at all, but people mistake us for sisters. Our connection is that palpable.
Oh yeah. Maybe I didn’t mention this . . . on top of all the awesomeness mentioned above, Nintendo had a parting gift: My very own DSi!!! I’m not even joking. So, they had all these different stations: The middle station was just getting to know the DSi, taking pics and getting used to the stylus, etc. There was also crossword, rhythm, brain age AND (my personal favorite) MARIO KART (I LIVE for Mario Kart)! At each station you collected a coin. Well, when we turned our coins in, we got a free DSi AND Brain Age!! The brilliant thing is, we all wanted to go out and buy our own DSi‘s after this party-they are that much fun! Getting one for free was freaking amazing! No, wait, there’s more: It comes with a BACK-UP stylus!!! I mean, how can you get better than that?! In fact, it was when I was in NM that I was telling Michael that I wanted a DSi.
I guess this is just one more example of me always getting what I want.
I am SO fucking glad you came and had such a good time!
Jealous. So very jealous.
But I’m glad you had a great time!
But damn, I love Mario.
Reunion it is! Maybe by then our brains will be 20 years old.
P.S. Very pretty blog.
Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say

I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you write again soon!
Yay! I totally agree about the party – I felt like everyone there was my kind of people. Very refreshing and fun!
